What is SAT

SAT is conducted in U.S as a standardized test for college admissions.
SAT is administered by College Board in U.S. at the time of its inception it was initially called as Scholastic Aptitude Test, then the Scholastic Assessment Test.
SAT constitute of 3 sections: Critical Reading, Mathematics, and Writing on a scale of 200 to 800 each section. Although the essay writing part is assessed separately. The total examination time is scheduled for 3 hrs and 45 min including distribution of question papers , breaks in between.This examination scores are valid for 2 years.
Average Score requirement: 1500. However, each school has its specific score requirement.

Critical Reading
The Critical Reading section of the SAT is made up of three scored sections: two 25-minute sections and one 20-minute section, with varying types of questions, including sentence completions and questions about short and long reading passage and paired passages.

Quantitative Section:
This is also known as the Mathematics and Calculation Section. It consists of three scored sections. There are two 25-minute sections and one 20-minute section, as follows:
• One of the 25-minute sections is entirely multiple choice, with 20 questions.
• The other 25-minute section contains 8 multiple choice questions and 10 grid-in questions.
• The 20-minute section is all multiple choice, with 16 questions

Writing section:
This section constitute of error identification questions, sentence improvement questions, and paragraph improvement questions. You will be required to write an essay.

About the Exam

  • Test in English (Writing & Critical Reading) and Mathematics
  • Test duration: 3hrs 45minutes.
  • Test Dates: 6 times a year in Nigeria, (October, November, December, January, May & June.)

Requirements for Registration

Please note that the registration form is issued at the office. However, some requirements are:

  • International Passport
  • 2 passport photographs
  • Names of 4 school choices in USA or Canada
  • Other basic information – Email, Residential Address, Phone number
